A conditioning serum for lashes – check ingredients and legal status carefully.
Lash serums are applied along the lash line to strengthen lashes and support the growth phase. The market ranges from purely conditioning products with peptides and panthenol to hormonally active substances.
The important distinction:
Some serums contained or contain prostaglandin analogues – substances from glaucoma therapy. They can work but also carry side effects: reddened eyes, darker lid skin or a permanent change in iris colour. Certain such substances are not permitted in cosmetics in the EU.
Recommending them in a studio:
Anyone selling or recommending serums should know the ingredients and speak openly about the limits. With existing eye conditions, during pregnancy and while breastfeeding, medical advice belongs in the picture.
