Dry cutting

Cutting hair dry – the way it actually falls.

Dry cutting means the hair is cut fully or partly in its dry state. The advantage: fall, bounce and texture are directly visible – which brings more precise results, especially for curls and individual cuts.

Who it suits:

Curly and wavy hair benefits most, because every curl shows its true length when dry (see curly cut). Many pros also use a dry finish at the end of straight precision cuts. Whether a salon works fully dry or combined is a question of technique.
