Soak-off removal
Gentle removal of shellac or soft gel with acetone instead of filing it off.
For soak-off removal, the top coat is buffed and the product softened with acetone-soaked pads under foil or clips. After about ten to fifteen minutes it can be gently pushed off.
Why not scrape it off:
Prying off insufficiently softened material tears layers of the natural nail away with it. That is exactly what causes the thin, whitish patches many people wrongly blame on the gel itself.
Not everything is soakable:
Hard gel and acrylic cannot be dissolved and must be filed down professionally. After any removal, cuticle oil and a recovery phase help – or a thin protective overlay straight away.
