Purple shampoo
A violet-pigmented shampoo that neutralises brassiness in blonde hair.
Purple shampoo contains violet pigments. Because violet sits opposite yellow on the colour wheel, it visually neutralises warm yellow tones and makes blonde look cooler.
Getting the dose right:
One or two uses a week is usually enough. Using it too often or leaving it on too long can leave a dull grey or lilac cast, especially on porous, light hair. When in doubt keep the processing time short and build up slowly.
What it cannot do:
Purple shampoo does not lighten and does not replace a salon toner. It only corrects the surface colour impression and keeps the result fresh between appointments.
