PMU healing process
The phases after pigmentation – from too dark through faded to the final result.
Freshly pigmented brows or lips initially look considerably stronger and darker than the eventual result. That is normal and part of healing.
Typical phases:
Days 1 to 3: intense and dark, slight swelling. Days 4 to 7: flaking, the colour looks patchy – never scratch or rub it off. Weeks 2 to 4: the colour often looks pale (ghosting) because a new skin layer sits on top. From week 4 to 6 the true result emerges.
Why the touch-up is part of it:
Only at the appointment after four to eight weeks is uneven healing balanced out. A pigmentation without a planned touch-up is not complete – reputable studios factor it in from the start.
