Ombré
A colour gradient from dark roots to noticeably lighter ends, with a visible transition.
Ombré describes a colour gradient where the roots stay dark while lengths and ends become noticeably lighter. Unlike balayage, the transition is deliberately visible and usually sits at one level.
Difference to balayage and sombré:
Balayage is painted freehand and looks very soft; ombré goes for clear contrast. The subtler version is called sombré (soft ombré). All three are low-maintenance because the natural root is allowed to grow in.
Care:
Lightened lengths need moisture and colour protection. Purple shampoo keeps cool tones free of brassiness but should not be used at every wash.
