Olaplex is the best-known of the so-called bond builders: products that re-link broken disulphide bonds inside the hair. In salons they are used mainly around bleaching and colouring to protect the hair structure.
What to realistically expect:
Bond builders do not make chemical services harmless, but they make them noticeably gentler – and visibly improve the feel and shine of stressed hair. There are in-salon treatments and complementary home-care products; the effect is conditioning, not a lasting reshaping.
