Nails

Nail strengthening overlay

A thin protective layer on the natural nail – without extending it.

In a strengthening overlay, a thin layer of gel or acrylic is applied to the natural nail without extending it. Soft, splitting or torn nails gain stability and can grow out undisturbed.

Who it suits:

Ideal for anyone who does not want length but whose nails constantly tear in daily life. It is also popular as a transition after removing a long enhancement.

Nail health:

During prep the natural nail is only lightly buffed, not filed down. Removing too much substance creates thin, sensitive nails – a common reason for the mistaken belief that gel itself ruins nails.
