Scalp care

Caring for the scalp as the foundation for healthy hair growth.

Hair grows out of the scalp – so hair care starts there. Scalp care covers gentle cleansing, exfoliation, soothing or clarifying tonics and massage to stimulate circulation.

Common salon topics:

Dry, tight scalp needs moisture and mild surfactants. Oily scalp often gets worse with overly harsh washing because sebum production compensates. Flaking can be harmless or a sign of a skin condition.

Where cosmetics end:

Persistent itching, redness, psoriasis, patchy hair loss or sudden heavy shedding belong in medical hands. Reputable salons recognise this line and refer on rather than treat.
