Heat protectant
A product that shields the hair fibre from blow-dryers, straighteners and curling irons.
Heat protectant forms a film around the hair that spreads heat more evenly and keeps moisture inside. Without it, water inside the fibre evaporates abruptly, leading to brittleness and split ends.
Applying it properly:
Distribute evenly on towel-dried or dry hair, especially through lengths and ends – that is where hair is oldest and most fragile. Sprays suit fine hair; creams and oils work better on thick hair.
Temperature matters too:
Even with protectant: as hot as necessary, as cool as possible. For most hair types 180 degrees is enough; fine or bleached hair often tolerates considerably less.
