Hair loss

Increased hair shedding – supportable in the salon, but the cause is often medical.

Losing around 70 to 100 hairs a day is normal. Hair loss means noticeably more falling out, visible thinning or bald patches appearing.

Common triggers:

Hormonal changes (after pregnancy or during menopause, for example), iron or vitamin deficiency, thyroid conditions, stress, certain medications and the hereditary form. Overly tight hairstyles can also damage hair mechanically (traction alopecia).

What a salon can and cannot do:

A salon can care for the scalp, choose gentle techniques and find styles that create the impression of fullness. Only medical diagnostics can identify the cause – sudden, patchy or heavy loss should always be checked. Reputable advice does not sell miracle cures here.
