Curly cut
A cutting technique made for curls – usually worked dry, curl by curl.
In a curly cut, curls are cut dry and unstyled. That way the stylist sees how each individual curl falls and springs back – something invisible when the hair is wet.
Why it is cut dry:
Curls shrink considerably as they dry. A bob cut wet can look several centimetres shorter once dry. Cutting dry avoids exactly that surprise and allows volume to be placed deliberately.
Known methods:
Common approaches include the Deva Cut and the Rezo Cut. They differ in technique and philosophy but share one principle: the natural curl pattern dictates the cut, not the other way round.
