Couperose
Visible dilated capillaries on the face – coverable cosmetically, worth checking medically.
Couperose refers to fine, dilated blood vessels showing through mainly on the cheeks and around the nose. It results from weakness in the vessel walls and is aggravated by temperature changes, sun, alcohol and spicy food.
What cosmetics can do:
Soothing care, consistent sun protection and avoiding irritating products can improve the appearance and slow progression. Green colour correctors visually neutralise redness.
Where the limit is:
Existing vessels do not disappear with creams. Lasting removal is done with laser or IPL by appropriately qualified practitioners. If redness increases markedly or bumps appear, rosacea may be present – that belongs in medical hands.
