Watercolour lips are a variant of lip pigmentation that dispenses with any drawn outline. Colour is worked in softly across the surface, creating a delicate, natural tint.
Difference to lip blush:
Both techniques work softly; lip blush usually still hints at the outline, while watercolour omits it entirely. Both are far removed from the hard lip liner of past decades.
Good to know:
Lips heal differently from brows: they flake more, lose more pigment and almost always need a touch-up. For clients prone to cold sores, preventive medication is often recommended – that belongs in the consultation.
